Okay, here we go:
After taking a long and nice hiatus from blogging, I am hopefully back now with full steam ahead. The Summer is now coming to a close and that means one thing: football season. I went ahead and picked some teams that I think will win their conference (and divisions, in some cases) for the 2013 Season.
American Athletic Conference Champion: LOUISVILLE
Cincinnati and Rutgers will be chasing Heisman Trophy hopeful Teddy Bridgewater and the Louisville Cardinals.
ACC Atlantic Champion: CLEMSON
ACC Coastal Champion: VIRGINIA TECH
ACC Overall Champion: CLEMSON
I think Dabo can get over the hump against Florida State this year and repeat a 2011 performance by beating Logan Thomas and the Hokies in the ACC Championship.
Big 12 Champion: TEXAS
I like how deep they are running back, plus I think David Ash could step out as a great quarterback for Mack Brown. I think the Red River Rivalry Game will determine this prediction, and look out for the rushing attack of the Baylor Bears.
Big 10 Leaders Champion: OHIO STATE
Big 10 Legends Champion: MICHIGAN
Big 10 Overall Champion: OHIO STATE
What? Can we see this game twice this year?!? Braxton Miller high on the Heisman list, and I think he will do better than the last Buckeye QB with much hype, Terrell Pryor.
Conference USA East Champion: MARSHALL
Conference USA West Champion: LOUISIANA TECH
Conference USA Champion: MARSHALL
I really like Marshall QB Rakeem Cato, and I think he will break Marshall’s slump of not being able to beat a top 25 since 2003.
Mid-American East Champion: OHIO
Mid-American West Champion: NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Mid-American Champion: NORTHERN ILLINOIS
Northern Illinois has a chance to be a BCS buster again.
Mountain West Mountain Champion: BOISE STATE
Mountain West West Champion: FRESNO STATE
Mountain West Champion: BOISE STATE
I just can’t go against Boise State in the most functionally named “Mountain” and “West” divisions *coughBig10cough*. Utah State behind Chuckie Keeton could be a dark horse in this conference. Fresno State will be able to drop bombs with Derek Carr, and they should be a fun team to watch when the offense is on the field.
Pacific-12 North Champion: OREGON
Pacific-12 South Champion: UCLA
Pacific-12 Champion: OREGON
I think UCLA will stay ahead of USC in the South Division this year. I think Oregon will be able to get over Stanford, who is still very much in the running. I like DeAnthony Thomas, who is at the top of the list for most explosive players in the country. I just have a hunch on the speed of Oregon this season.
SEC East Champion: SOUTH CAROLINA
SEC West Champion: ALABAMA
SEC Champion: ALABAMA
I think South Carolina has a shot in the SEC Championship against Alabama if they can outlast Florida and Georgia. I simply can’t pick them to beat Alabama because they don’t play well in the Georgia Dome, and Alabama is Alabama.
Sunbelt Conference Champion: LOUISIANA-MONROE
I like the Warhawks against the popular pick of Louisiana-Lafayette. Both will be front runners to win this conference.
Let me know what you think....
