I finished a solid 7-1 last week, dropping the one game that I said was going to be closer than people think. This puts me at 88-20 for the season thus far. So without further delay, let's get to the picks:
Wake Forest 19
Duke 27
Duke has to beat Wake Forest and North Carolina in consecutive weeks to earn the Coastal spot in the ACC Championship Game. Yes, you read that correctly: Duke has to beat Wake Forest and North Carolina in consecutive weeks to earn the Coastal spot in the ACC Championship Game. I could write that 20 more times and probably still be giggling like it was a dirty joke.
(25) Minnesota 23
(19) Wisconsin 31
A nice Big 10 matchup on the Golden Gophers turf. Wisconsin is underrated, and they will prove it Saturday.
(10) Oklahoma State 45
(4) Baylor 58
These offensive juggernauts of the Big 12 collide in Stillwater, and Bryce Petty will keep his Heisman nod intact.
Now let's take a look at a very decisive week in the SEC:
Arkansas 20
Mississippi State 38
Arkansas will fall short in trying to attain their first SEC win of the season. Dan Mullen has really had his team playing competitive even in consecutive losses.
Coastal Carolina 6
(11) South Carolina 35
Coastal provides the Gamecocks' defense with a nice tune-up before Clemson comes to town next week. Dylan Thompson will start, and Mike Davis will sit this game out. Kelcy Quarles and Brison Williams will be out on defense, but Jadeveon Clowney will play.
Georgia Southern 0
Florida 27
Muschamp has to make this win look good Saturday. A lot of Florida fans have been lobbying for a change, but you really can't hang Florida's season on him. When you have that many injuries, it would be tough to win if you're even Alabama or Florida State. It's already hard enough to win in the SEC with a healthy team.
Chattanooga 3
(1) Alabama 45
Where does Alabama get all these cupcakes in between SEC games?
(22) LSU 34
(12) Texas A&M 42
Manziel is going to play these next two games tough. These will be the last two conference games he will play in his college career, and he knows if he plays well, these game will make him a lot of money. (in the pros of course)
Kentucky 10
Georgia 38
Aaron Murray will play his final home game in Athens this weekend. His name will go down with some of the best quarterbacks in SEC history.
Tennessee 17
Vanderbilt 22
The Commodores will edge the Volunteers in what will be a physical game in Knoxville.
(24) Ole Miss 27
(8) Missouri 31
James Franklin starts at QB for Mizzou Saturday in Oxford. I really hope I am wrong about this pick. South Carolina will be watching intently as this one is the primetime game on ESPN. A Mizzou win will delay the answer to the SEC East race another week, but a loss will put South Carolina into the SEC Championship Game.
