There are some new editions to week's power rankings. Make sure you read all the way through to read this week's new number one!
10.) Texas Longhorns
The Longhorns swept Baylor last weekend before dropping a mid-week showdown to the Rice Owls. I've said it many times that Texas is loaded with young talent. If the Longhorns can find a way to get streaky in Big 12 play, they'll be a dark horse team in the NCAA Tournament.
9.) Florida Gators
The Gators shut out Florida State in Tallahassee Tuesday after losing a weekend series to the Kentucky Wildcats. The Gators travel to Columbia, S.C. to battle South Carolina this weekend. This series will determine which team leads the SEC East. The SEC East can be argued as the toughest division of any conference in College Baseball this year, being responsible for four teams on this list.
8.) Kentucky Wildcats
The Wildcats had a nice series win against Florida before slipping to Morehead State in the middle of the week. The Wildcats host the Missouri Tigers this weekend. The Tigers are sitting at the very bottom of the SEC East standings. The Wildcats possess one of the most potent offenses in the country, and they will be looking to explode against the lowly Tigers.
7.) Oregon State Beavers
The Beavers got back on track this weekend after sweeping the Stanford Cardinal at home. Oregon State continues PAC-12 play on the road this week, traveling to Washington State to play a weekend series against the Cougars.
6.) Vanderbilt Commodores
The Commodores drop three spots this week after a tough series loss to in-state rival, Tennessee. Vanderbilt will try to shake off the off loss by hosting a decent Texas A&M team in Nashville this weekend. The Aggies were previously ranked, and both teams will be looking to add to their SEC win total.
5.) Cal Poly Mustangs
The Mustangs won their series against UC Santa Barbara this past weekend. Cal Poly was able to defeat a sold St. Mary's team in the beginning of the week. This Mustang team has been a formidable opponent for every test they've faced this season.
4.) LSU Tigers
The Tigers swept the Mississippi State Bulldogs last weekend in Baton Rouge. The Bulldogs were in last week's power ranking at the number nine spot. LSU has one of the best offenses in the SEC, and it will be interesting to watch as they host some of the best pitching in the conference, the Arkansas Razorbacks, in Louisiana this weekend.
3.) Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns
The Ragin' Cajuns have one of the most high-power offenses in the country. Louisiana-Lafayette slipped a game to New Orleans this week, but the Cajuns have scored 37 runs against Troy this past weekend. The Cajuns lead the country in runs scored, averaging 8.6 runs per game.
2.) South Carolina Gamecocks
The Gamecocks lost their series against Arkansas in Fayetteville this past weekend. South Carolina needs to prove they can hit SEC pitching in a very important series against the Florida Gators this weekend. If the Gamecocks can beat the Gators, they will be sitting in the driver's seat of the SEC East.
1.) Florida State Seminoles
The Seminoles, despite being shutout by Florida, sit a top our power rankings this week. Florida State will be looking for their third consecutive sweep in conference play, as they travel to Atlanta to play the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
