SEC + 3: Bowl Season Edition
With 12 SEC Schools going bowling this season, let's take a look at how Keister and I see bowl season shaking out:
South Carolina vs. Miami
Keister: Hard game to pick, but in the end Duke Johnson will have a dominating performance that'll be too much for the Gamecocks to overcome.
The Pick: Miami 31 South Carolina 27
Griff: I agree that Duke Johnson runs around all day, but I see Steve Spurrier having the final say in this game. Gamecock offense salvages a very disappointing season.
The Pick: South Carolina 43 Miami 38
Texas A&M vs. West Virginia
Keister: High-powered passing attacks clash in this one! Mountaineers will edge out the Aggies by winning the turnover battle.
The Pick: West Virginia 41 Texas A&M 28
Griff: Kevin Sumlin needs to win this game to not only salvage a season that spiraled out of control after a great start, but he needs to also stabilize a good recruiting class coming in for 2015.
The Pick: Texas A&M 33 West Virginia 20
Arkansas vs. Texas
Keister: An old Southwest Conference matchup! The Longhorns will end their season on a positive note by downing the Razorbacks!
The Pick: Texas 27 Arkansas 21
Griff: This will be an old school, smash mouth game where both teams will be hungry for a win. This physical match up will favor the Razorbacks in the end, but both team's stocks are on the rise for the future.
The Pick: Arkansas 23 Texas 18
Notre Dame vs. (23) LSU
Keister: This game will be a one-way track meet!
The Pick: LSU 45 Notre Dame 23
Griff: I agree with Keister on this one. Blowout win for the Tigers.
The Pick: LSU 52 Notre Dame 21
(13) Georgia vs. (21) Louisville
Keister: With Running Back Michael Dyer deemed ineligible for Cardinals. This game became a lot easier to pick. Physicality and depth wears down Coach Petrino's squad.
The Pick: Georgia 35 Louisville 13
Griff: Georgia will outrush the Cardinals, but Louisville isn't going to go down without a fight.
The Pick: Georgia 34 Louisville 29
(9) Ole Miss vs. (6) TCU
Keister: Too much depth and defensive playmakers for TCU to handle! It will be a long, frustrating offensive-outing for the Horned Frogs!
The Pick: Ole Miss 28 TCU 17
Griff: TCU plays with a chip on their shoulder and pressures Bo Wallace early and often. This could be one of the better bowl games we see this season.
The Pick: TCU 38 Ole Miss 32
(19) Auburn vs. (18) Wisconsin
Keister: Give me War Eagle in this one! Auburn will control the clock to oust the Badgers.
The Pick: Auburn 33 Wisconsin 20
Griff: Nick Marshall will give the Badgers' defense fits, and the Tigers will outscore Wisconsin.
The Pick: Auburn 47 Wisconsin 35
(7) Mississippi State vs. Georgia Tech
Keister: Georgia Tech will move the ball much better than most expect, but Dak Prescott will sustain too many time-consuming touchdown drives for that to matter!
The Pick: Mississippi State 33 Georgia Tech 24
Griff: The Bulldogs will outlast Georgia Tech in a tough, physical battle.
The Pick: Mississippi State 35 Georgia Tech 28
(16) Missouri vs. (25) Minnesota
Keister: Rough match ups on both sides of the ball cause a head-scratching day for Coach Pinkel.
The Pick: Minnesota 35 Missouri 24
Griff: Missouri will use their underrated defense to pull away late in this game.
The Pick: Missouri 27 Minnesota 19
Iowa vs. Tennessee
Keister: I'm on the "Butch Bus," and I see Coach Jones having his team amped up and ready to showcase their potential. Tennessee will have a chance to make some noise within the conference next year.
The Pick: Tennessee 38 Iowa 20
Griff: The Vols will burn the Hawkeyes' defense that has surrendered some sketchy performances this season.
The Pick: Tennessee 30 Iowa 10
East Carolina vs. Florida
Keister: Florida will show their 2.0 edition that they displayed against Georgia near the end of the season!
The Pick: Florida 30 East Carolina 17
Griff: Florida's secondary will be too much on the Pirates' receivers. Florida is certainly an interesting team to watch heading into next season.
The Pick: Florida 24 East Carolina 10
Oklahoma vs. Clemson
Keister: Coach Stoops will take full advantage of Clemson's lack of quarterback!
The Pick: Oklahoma 24 Clemson 14
Griff: Dabo's team has played tough in bowl games the past few years, but they'll come up short against a determined Sooner team.
The Pick: Oklahoma 30 Clemson 27
(8) Michigan State vs. (5) Baylor
Keister: Two well-coached teams match up in this interesting game. The explosive style of offense Baylor runs has torched the Spartans earlier this season against Oregon. This game will not be different.
The Pick: Baylor 34 Michigan State 27
Griff: Bryce Petty leads a score-fest to avenge Baylor's absence from the first CFB Playoff.
The Pick: Baylor 45 Michigan State 31
(11) Kansas State vs. (14) UCLA
Keister: Kansas State will be more focused and ready to take care of business. They'll be the more prepared team, and it will show!
The Pick: Kansas State 28 UCLA 13
Griff: UCLA has struggled against strong rushing attacks this season. Kansas State will prove to be too much for the Bruins' defense.
The Pick: Kansas State 38 UCLA 23
Thanks for reading our picks! We hope you and your family have an amazing holiday season! Follow Griff on twitter @griffaldo, and be sure to check back next week for Keister and I's CFB Playoff Predictions!
