So without further delay, here's the guys that bring you their predictions every week of the College Football Season with the "SEC+3" and their predictions for each "power five" conference championship game.
ACC
Keister: Clemson vs. Georgia Tech
Winner: Clemson
With a favorable schedule throughout the season and the return of several key skill players to assist a talented quarterback, this year certainly seems to be weighing heavily in the Tigers favor.
Griff: Clemson vs. Virginia
Winner: Clemson
The Tigers have themselves a special player in quarterback DeShaun Watson. Watson throws one of the best balls in the entire FBS. Clemson has a legitimate shot at the playoff if they can keep Watson healthy and not stumble over any teams they shouldn't. Clemson also possesses the talent on defense that matches up well with just about every game on their schedule.
Big 10
Keister: Ohio State vs. Wisconsin
While this game may not be the same score as last year's Big 10 Championship, the Buckeyes will still roll through their in conference opponents without much resistance. Urban Meyer's biggest dilemma will be deciding who's going to be taking the snaps for the Buckeyes this season.
Griff: Ohio State vs. Minnesota
Winner: Ohio State
It's tough to imagine a playoff in 2015 without Ohio State, but stranger things have happened. The Buckeyes might suffer from a couple hiccups from becoming complacent, but Urban Meyer does a good job of keeping his teams hungry. Minnesota brings a lot back from a good season in 2014, but there's not a team in the Big 10 that's going to be able to match up with the Buckeyes.
Big 12 (no championship game)
Keister's Pick: TCU
The return of Trevone Boykin makes it extremely difficult for me to consider another squad except Coach Gary Patterson's Horned Frogs, who come into the 2015 trying to take the next step into the playoff.
Griff's Pick: Baylor
Art Briles' Baylor Bears have stepped onto the national stage since Briles took over as the team's head coach in 2008. The lack of a championship game hurt both TCU and Baylor's case to make the playoff last season, allowing Ohio State to leapfrog over both schools and eventually win the National Championship. Baylor gets my nod for 2015 because they get most of their key games in Waco, but "The Revivalry" against TCU will be the deciding game for the Big 12.
Pac-12
Keister: Southern California vs. Oregon
Winner: Southern California
Emerging as one of the nations elite offenses throughout the 2014, I foresee Cody Kessler and the Trojan's offense finishing the 2015 campaign strong with a statement win against the Ducks in the Pac-12 Conference Championship.
Griff: Arizona vs. Stanford
Winner: Stanford
Anu Solomon will be exciting to watch in 2015, and Rich Rodriguez's Wildcats will be able to outscore most teams they face. Stanford draws a favorable road schedule in 2015, facing Northwestern, Southern Cal, Washington State, Colorado and Oregon State. The only one of those teams that will give the Cardinal a tough time on the road will be Cody Kessler and the Trojans. Stanford will look to bounce back from the 2014, which was the first time that they didn't have double-digit wins since 2009.
SEC
Keister: Georgia vs. Alabama
Winner: Georgia
I'm making a bold prediction here and saying the SEC East breaks the West's current winning streak. Four returning offensive lineman and a healthy Sony Michel and Keith Marshall to bolster the running back stable along with the workhorse Nick Chubb give the Bulldogs the edge throughout most of their 2015 schedule.
Griff: Georgia vs. Alabama
Winner: Alabama
I agree with Keister that Georgia's rushing attack will allow them to power through the SEC East, but I'm taking Alabama to win the SEC this season. The Crimson Tide will be one of the most talented teams in the country and will try to make another appearance in the playoff to seek revenge against Ohio State. Nick Saban lost a lot of good players off of last year's team, but as always, he restocks the pond of talent that'll take the field in Tuscaloosa.
As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to check out the "SEC+3" on Wednesday, September 2 for the predictions of each and every SEC Team in week one, along with predictions for three of the top games across the country. Like/Dislike our picks? Let me know and follow me on Twitter @griffaldo.
