SEC+3's Countdown To Kickoff: #19
19 days remain until the SEC schedule starts with the South Carolina Gamecocks traveling to Nashville, Tennessee, to do battle against the Vanderbilt Commodores Sept. 1. To make the time move faster, we'll take a look back to two SEC players that wore the numbers corresponding with the remaining days we have left to endure until SEC football returns next month.
Our first No. 19 is Keenan Burton, who played receiver for the Kentucky Wildcats from 2003 until 2007. Burton led the SEC in touchdown catches in 2006 with 12 and caught 25 over his four years as a Wildcat, which puts him at the No. 12 spot for the SEC's Career Touchdown Receptions.
Here's a video of Burton taking a screen pass from Andre Woodson for a 42-yard touchdown against Central Michigan in 2006. Burton had a monster day against the Chippewas, finishing the day with nine catches for 124 yards and two touchdowns.
Let's shift over to the defensive side of the ball for our other No. 19, Casey Hayward, a defensive back from Vanderbilt that played from 2008 to 2011. Hayward finished his career at Vanderbilt with 15 interceptions, which is the ninth-best total in SEC history.
Here's a pick six from Hayward against Connecticut during the early part of his senior season:
