SEC Week 4 Picks
So here we are in week four of this 2012 season. I’m going to give you my SEC picks for the week, along with a few other relevant games around the country.
Ole Miss 38 Tulane 13
The Rebels go into New Orleans after taking a beating from Texas last week. This week will be a good redemption game, but I believe Tulane will still be able to put a few points up.
Florida 48 Kentucky 13
The Wildcats go into the swamp after losing to Western Kentucky in overtime at home last week. Florida is riding high after a win on the road against Tennessee, and they have now proven that they are relevant in the SEC East race. Expect a thrashing in this one.
South Carolina 24 Missouri 17
Vegas has South Carolina favored by 10 points in this game, and I believe South Carolina could win by two touchdowns. The main factor in this game is going to be how both teams quarterbacks play with their shoulder issues. I strongly believe South Carolina has the upper hand at the backup quarterback position. Missouri has to come up with a quick passing game, and they also must contain South Carolina’s front four. The Battle of Columbia should be a very interesting game to watch.
Alabama 45 Florida Atlantic 0
It is going to be just another day at the office for Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide. Expect the ball to be ran straight up at Florida Atlantic, and you can also count on the Crimson Tide creating turnovers, as they’ve average 4 takeaways a game up to this point.
Arkansas 24 Rutgers 21
The Hogs get a little swagger back after the roughest two weeks in probably a decade for this program. Tyler Wilson needs to come back and be effective early and quickly against a pretty good Rutgers defense.
LSU 49 Auburn 10
LSU is going to pounce on any mistake Auburn’s offense allows it to. Auburn has thrown an interception for every 7 passes they have completed, and they are ranked 111th in passing in the country. LSU rolls in this one.
Mississippi State 31 South Alabama 7
The Bulldogs flex their SEC West muscle against a team from the Sun Belt that’s not Lousiana-Monroe. The Bulldogs stingy defense will create some turnovers that will allow the offense to score points.
Texas A&M 45 South Carolina State 6
The Aggies face a lackluster opponent, and I believe the score I predicted says it all.
Tennessee 38 Akron 10
Tennessee takes out their frustration after losing a tough one in Neyland Stadium to the Florida Gators last week.
Georgia 31 Vanderbilt 21
The Bulldogs will be played tough by Vanderbilt, but the Commodores won’t be able to outlast them.
So here are some other scores that I picked off my ESPN challenge this week.
UCLA 28 Oregon State 24
Florida State 38 Clemson 35
Notre Dame 28 Michigan 17
Georgia Tech 35 Miami (FL) 10
If you have another game you’d like to see me predict shoot me a tweet @griffaldo or email me at JCGriffin13@yahoo.com . As always, thanks for the read, and I hope some of my predictions are close to being right.
