Saturday Bowl Picks
Even keel. That's the best way to describe my picks so far. Sitting at 6-5 currently with my bowl picks, and we have four games to preview today. Let's begin:
New Era Pinstripe Bowl
Bronx, New York
Yankee Stadium
Today 12:00
Rutgers vs. Notre Dame
The pick: Notre Dame 36 Rutgers 21
Notre Dame wasn't able to win the close games during the regular season like they did in the 2012 campaign. Rutgers was a team coming into the season with a lot of promise, but injuries plagued that promise quickly. Look for a physical game in Yankee Stadium today.
Belk Bowl
Charlotte, North Carolina
Bank of America Stadium
Today 3:20
Cincinnati vs. North Carolina
The pick: North Carolina 27 Cincinnati 26
This will be a fun matchup to watch, as both teams have plenty of firepower. Both teams have some NFL-caliber skill players on their offenses. Really going to be close, just wish I could see Munchie Legeaux suit up for the Bearcats.
Russell Athletic Bowl
Orlando, Florida
Florida Citrus Bowl
Today 6:45
Miami (FL) vs. (18) Louisville
The pick: Louisville 35 Miami 16
The Hurricanes just haven't been the same since top rusher Duke Johnson was injured for the season. Teddy Bridgewater looks to play well against his hometown university and increase his NFL Draft stock. The reason this pick is so one-sided is that Louisville has 23 Miami-natives on the roster. You can't tell me they aren't going to be stoked for this game.
Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
Tempe, Arizona
Sun Devil Stadium
Today 10:15
Michigan vs. Kansas State
The pick: Michigan 26 Kansas State 24
Michigan starting quarterback Devin Gardner will not play in this game today. This opens the door for in-state freshman Shane Morris to step in and begin his legacy as a Wolverine. Luckily, Morris has one the most explosive receivers in the country to throw to in Jeremy Gallon. Gallon is a smaller receiver, but is extremely explosive with incredible hands. Kansas State hasn't won a bowl game in quite some time, and today will not be the day to change that.
