…And Bowl Week Begins…Picks!!!

Saturday's games provided me a nice three-game swing to start the day off, but then Michigan completely ruined a chance of a perfect day by losing to Kansas State. So let's get to picking:

Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl
Fort Worth, Texas
Amon Carter Stadium
Middle Tennessee vs. Navy

The pick: Navy 29 Middle Tennessee 20

The Midshipmen have been a tough opponent for a lot of teams this season. Middle Tennessee is trying to finish a solid season on a high note. Both teams run the ball well, but Navy will outlast Middle Tennessee.

Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl
Nashville, Tennessee
LP Field
Today 3:15
Ole Miss vs. Georgia Tech

The pick: Ole Miss 27 Georgia Tech 17

The Rebels will find a way to stop Georgia Tech's option-attack that's producing over 300-yards per game. Hugh Freeze has a young group that will make some noise in the SEC West over the next few years.

Valero Alamo Bowl
San Antonio, Texas
Alamodome
Tonight 6:45
(10) Oregon vs. Texas

The pick: Texas 31 Oregon 28

Yes, I did just pick Texas to beat Oregon. The Longhorns have an advantage in the fact that they had a long time to prepare for Oregon's offensive attack. The last four teams have managed to "control" the points-machine that is Oregon's offense. Mack Brown has to do something big and fast, and he gets a huge win to add to his list tonight.

National University Holiday Bowl
San Diego, California
Qualcomm Stadium
Tonight 10:15
(14) Arizona State vs. Texas Tech

The pick: Arizona State 45 Texas Tech 38

This one will be a fun, late-night game to watch with both teams loving to put the ball in the air. Have to pick Arizona State here because they are the overall more balanced, complete team in this matchup. That doesn't mean this won't be a fun game with a ton of points.
