College Baseball Power Rankings: Week Nine

The Texas Longhorns were the only team to drop out of this week's power rankings. This allowed for the Oregon Ducks to make an appearance. Who's number one this week? Let's take a look at our top 10:

#10: Oregon Ducks

Last Week: NR

The Ducks find their way into our tenth spot after winning their last nine games. This weekend is a tough test for Oregon, as they travel to play a series against in-state rival, Oregon State.

#9: Vanderbilt Commodores

Last Week: #8

The Commodores slipped a spot this week, after losing a series to the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Commodores will try to recover this weekend when they host the Georgia Bulldogs, who have been struggling all season.

#8: Oregon State Beavers

Last Week: #7

The Beavers dropped a spot this week, splitting games with Sacramento State earlier in the week. As mentioned earlier, Oregon State will host Oregon this weekend in a series that should impact next week's power rankings.

#7: Florida Gators

Last Week: #6

The Gators looked as though they might climb in this week's rankings, sweeping a weak Georgia team last weekend. After the sweep, Florida lost mid-week games that they should've won easily to Jacksonville and Florida A&M.

#6: Virginia Cavaliers

Last Week: #10

The Cavaliers pitching really impressed me last weekend, and Virginia continues to make their ACC competition look easy, taking a series from North Carolina. The true test for the Cavaliers pitching will be this weekend, when they travel to Tallahassee to take on the Florida State Seminoles.

#5: South Carolina Gamecocks

Last Week: #5

The Gamecocks won a tough conference series against the Auburn Tigers this past weekend. Injuries have had a major impact on South Carolina, and they will have to prove themselves against Alabama, who has the best record in the SEC.

#4: Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns

Last Week: #1

The Cajuns didn't impress me this week, even though they took two-of-three from UT-Arlington this past weekend. Louisiana-Lafayette just didn't seem as powerful as usual, and this cost them a few spots.

#3: Florida State Seminoles

Last Week: #3

The Seminoles hold tight at the number three spot, after winning a series against Wake Forest. The real test for the Seminoles will be this week, as they host a Virginia team that might have the best pitching in the country.

#2: Cal-Poly Mustangs

Last Week: #4

The Mustangs continue to impress, moving up two spots this week after sweeping Cal State-Fullerton. The sweep makes Cal-Poly winners in 17 of their last 18 games.

#1: LSU Tigers

Last Week: #2

LSU won a tough series against Ole Miss this past weekend. The Tigers looked impressive in the series, and they could be the best team in the country offensively.
