2015 MLB Regular Season Predictions

The starting gun fires tomorrow to start the marathon that's the Major League Baseball regular season. Here's how Keister and I think this year's season will play out:

American League East

Keister's Pick: Baltimore Orioles

With all the huge personnel moves in this division, people easily overlook this team that won the division by 12 games last year. Something else that people seem to forget is that the Orioles were able to do this in 2014 without two of their best weapons, Matt Wieters and Manny Machado.

Griff's Pick: Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox will have to rely a ton on their bats, but Boston's lineup will be able to produce plenty of runs. Run production will help sustain a mediocre rotation for Boston.

American League Central

Griff's Pick: Chicago White Sox

The AL Central will be a division that will be the most interesting this season. Four of the five teams have a shot to take the cake (sorry Twins). Jose Abreu will continue to hit for the monster numbers he had last year, if he can stay healthy. The White Sox also have one of the best one-two punches in Chris Sale and Jeff Samardzija at the front end of their rotation.

Keister's Pick: Detroit Tigers

As long as the starting rotation can go decently deep into most games for closers Joakim Soria and Joe Nathan, I don't see the Tigers having much trouble in this division.

American League West

Keister's Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Some analysts question the ability of the batting order to remain the offensive juggernaut it's been in the past, but when the dust settles, they'll still have too much offensive power for the rest of the division.

Griff's Pick: Los Angeles Angels

The Angels had a phenomenal regular season in 2014, winning 98 games. Winning the division won't be the issue for the Angels, their main objective will be to survive at least one series in the post season.

National League East

Griff's Pick: Washington Nationals

The Nationals have the strongest rotation in Major League Baseball and that makes this an easy pick for me.

Keister's Pick: Washington Nationals

With a pitching rotation that boasts a former NL wins leader Gio Gonzalez as their number five starter, I have a really hard time picking against them.

National League Central

Keister's Pick: St. Louis Cardinals

Barring any significant injury to the pitching staff, the Cardinals will improve their record from last season and possibly make a deeper run come the post season.

Griff's Pick: St. Louis Cardinals

The Cardinals will try to yet again to reach the NLCS, which is something they've done every year since Mike Matheny took over as manager in 2012. Matheny will try to guide his club to their first World Series win since he became the manager.

National League West

Griff's Pick: San Francisco Giants

The Giants have seemed to find a way the last five season under Bruce Bochy that have yielded three World Series Championships. Buster Posey will need to have another great season at the plate, as the Giants lost some offense with the departure of third baseman Pablo Sandoval.

Keister's Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Explosive offense and consistent pitching will put this team in place to post another great regular season mark.
