Three Betting Locks for Opening Day
With Opening Day bringing us a glorious amount of daytime baseball tomorrow. Here's three locks for you to beat Vegas to start the season. (All run lines based off sportsplay.com)
Atlanta Braves (+1.5) vs. Miami Marlins
I'm locking the Braves in tomorrow as a safe bet against the Marlins. The Braves will be throwing Julio Teheran which is one of (if not the) best young pitchers in Major League Baseball. The Marlins will be relying on Henderson Alvarez tomorrow, and this will create a nice pitcher's duel that will be decided closer than two runs.
San Diego Padres (+1.5) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Dodgers' ace Clayton Kershaw was phenomenal last season, and I expect him to be on point tomorrow. The Padres will be throwing James Shields, who I think will sneak into the NL Cy Young conversation by the end of the season. This game will not feature a lot of offense and is a safe bet to think the Padres can finish it within two runs.
Oakland A's (-1.5) vs. Texas Rangers
The A's will find a way to produce runs against a Rangers' pitching staff that's going to get them in trouble early in the season. Yovani Gallardo as your number one? That's not good. Oakland will be able to create some separation behind the dependable, young arm of Sonny Gray.
