Griff's Picks: May 8

Here's my picks for Friday, May 8: (run lines from SportsPlays.com)

New York Mets (-1.5) vs. Philadelphia Phillies

The Mets have hit left-handed pitching well this season, and their offense will be fine against the Phillies' lefty Cole Hamels. What makes me really like the Mets as favorites is the fact that Matt Harvey will be able to decimate Philadelphia's lineup.

St. Louis Cardinals (+1.5) vs. Pittsburgh Pirates

Michael Wacha has pitched very well this season, and I always like the Cards as underdogs.

Houston Astros (+1.5) vs. Los Angeles Angels

I feel like the oddsmakers got lazy on this game and just gave Jered Weaver the benefit of the doubt. I also know that Roberto Hernandez is going to pitching for the Astros, but I'm just a believer that the Astros will be able to pounce on Weaver early, even if they have a depleted lineup.

As always, thanks for reading! Give me a follow on Twitter @griffaldo.
