Here's my picks for Saturday, May 9: (run lines from SportsPlays.com)
Atlanta Braves (+1.5) vs. Washington Nationals
I know that the Nationals are heating up right now, but Julio Teheran has blossomed nicely into a top-end of the rotation starter. The Braves as the underdog looks like the pick here.
Cincinnati Reds (-1.5) vs. Chicago White Sox
Carlos Rodon makes his Major League debut for the White Sox against Johnny Cueto. Although I think Rodon will be a great pitcher eventually, Johnny Cueto is due for a good start. U.S. Cellular Field is a hitter-friendly park, and if Rodon makes any mistakes, the Reds' lineup will make them pay for it.
Los Angeles Dodgers (-1.5) vs. Colorado Rockies
Clayton Kershaw, like Johnny Cueto, hasn't had the best start this season. Kershaw will be provided with run support, as the Rockies' will throw Jorge De La Rosa. The Dodgers' bats have found success against De La Rosa over the years, and Saturday won't be different.
