20 May MLB Power Rankings
Here we are again with another edition of the weekly MLB power rankings. Here we go:
5 Best
5) Cleveland Indians
The Tribe have vaulted themselves into first place in the AL Central. They have done it with no real formula for success, as they sit in the middle of just about every statistical category. The Indians have just found a way to win.
4) Atlanta Braves
The Braves have amassed a powerful offense by leading the NL in runs scored with 214. They are in the middle of almost every pitching statistic. Brandon Beachy has the best ERA in the MLB at 1.33.
3) Texas Rangers
The Rangers have dropped a couple spots, but they still have the best offense in baseball. They lead the MLB in runs scored, and they are always a threat to regain first place.
2) Baltimore Orioles
Adam Jones has led the Orioles offensive attack as they are 6th in runs scored. He's hitting .310 with 14 home runs. Jim Johnson is arguably the best closer in the MLB right now, and he has 15 saves.
1) Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers have the best record in baseball by half a game. That could even change by tonight. They have the 2nd best ERA in the league behind the Washington Nationals, and they have found a way to win without Matt Kemp.
5 Worst
5) Kansas City Royals
The Royals have only had 13 quality starts (only worst is the twins). They are 25th in ERA with a 4.39. They have really struggled pitching and winning games.
4) Milwaukee Brewers
The Brewers have lost the last 4. They haven't gotten help from what on paper is a good pitching rotation. Their ERA is 27th out of 30 with a 4.62. The loss of Prince Fielder has really affected their offensive production.
3) San Diego Padres
The Padres have switched spots with the Cubs this week as they've went on a 4 game win streak. The Padres need to find something on offense if they want to get off this list, as they rank in the bottom of the pack in almost every offensive statistic.
2) Chicago Cubs
The Cubs drop back to #2 after a tough week. They have shown some good moments, and then it seems the bullpen ruins it. The Cubs are 4th in the league in blown saves with 8.
1) Minnesota Twins
The Twins remain at the worst team in the majors. Simply put, they are ranked at the bottom in almost every statistic.
