New Years' Eve Bowl Picks!
I went 2-2 on yesterday's picks, putting me at 11-8 total so far this bowl season. So like all the other posts, let's keep this short and get to picking:
AdvoCare V100 Bowl
Shreveport, Louisiana
Independence Stadium
Today 12:30
Arizona vs. Boston College
The pick: Arizona 26 Boston College 20
Ka'Deem Carey and the Arizona Wildcats will end their season on a high-note. This might be the quickest bowl game time-wise, as both teams will lean on their top-tier rushers. Expect both teams to try to run the football early and often.
Hyundai Sun Bowl
El Paso, Texas
Sun Bowl Stadium
Today 2:00
Virginia Tech vs. (17) UCLA
The pick: UCLA 41 Virginia Tech 20
UCLA will roll Virginia Tech today, and you have to wonder how long the Hokies will stick with Frank Beamer. Logan Thomas was easily one of the biggest disappointments in college football this season.
AutoZone Liberty Bowl
Memphis, Tennessee
Liberty Bowl Stadium
Today 4:00
Rice vs. Mississippi State
The pick: Mississippi State 31 Rice 21
It won't be as one-sided as Texas A&M's route over Rice to begin the season, but the Owls are still playing against a solid SEC-defense. It will be interesting to see how Mississippi State progresses with the young quarterbacking of Dak Prescott next season.
Chick-Fil-A Bowl
Atlanta, Georgia
Georgia Dome
Tonight 8:00
(24) Duke vs. (21) Texas A&M
The pick: Texas A&M 52 Duke 21
In what may be Johnny Football's last game as an Aggie, Texas A&M will out duel a Duke team that has had a beyond successful season. The Blue Devils made it to the ACC Championship, but they just won't have the answers on defense to stop the Manziel-Evans connection. This will be a fun one for the scouts to watch.
